Disney’s Riviera Resort- Why it is my Favorite
My name is Emily Schultz, agency owner at Magic Mom Travel in southeastern Wisconsin. Our first stay at Disney’s Riviera Resort was in 2020, shortly after the resort opened, for a multi-generational trip with my grandparents, mom, sisters, and daughter in a big 2-bedroom villa. We loved it so much, we decided to stay there again for our next family trip! I love matching guests with the appropriate resort and room for their trip and try to stay in different resorts and rooms with each stay to gain my own personal knowledge with a variety of stays. The Riviera is a stand-out resort to me for so many reasons, that I couldn’t help myself deciding to go back again! This resort is beautifully themed, offering a blend of luxury, charm, and a touch of European elegance. This makes it a must-visit for Disney enthusiasts and families alike.

Inspired by the Mediterranean coastline, Disney’s Riviera Resort captures the essence of European charm through its stunning architecture and décor. The resort features vibrant colors, terracotta roofs, and intricate tile work and fountains, transporting guests to the enchanting landscapes of France and Italy. As soon as you step into the lobby, you are greeted with breathtaking views of the resort’s gardens and Disney’s Skyliner, which we will talk a little more about.

Rooms
The rooms at The Riviera vary greatly in size. There are tower studios that sleep 2 guests, 3-bedroom grand villas accommodate up to 12, and everything in between. Each room has modern amenities and feels clean and bright, with a touch of Disney magic that we all love. The artwork on the walls pays homage to Disney’s history, featuring original sketches and artwork inspired by beloved Disney films. The attention to detail and comfort are unmatched.

Eats & Drinks
One of the culinary adventures at this resort is Topolino’s Terrace – Flavors of the Riviera. This rooftop dining experience offers breathtaking views and character interactions that add to the magic. From breakfast with Mickey and friends to a romantic dinner under the stars, the culinary offerings are diverse and delightful.

Primo Piatto offers a delightful array of Italian-inspired dishes. We enjoyed the freshly made pizzas, but you can also try hearty salads, and savory sandwiches in a casual and inviting atmosphere. With both indoor and outdoor seating, it's perfect for families on the go. Plus, the convenience of mobile ordering makes it easy to grab a delicious meal and continue your Disney adventure.

Le Petit Café is a charming coffee shop that captures the essence of European cafés. It is my favorite place to go in the morning, and serves a variety of specialty coffees, teas, and delectable pastries, including croissants and macarons. The cozy setting is ideal for a morning pick-me-up or a relaxing afternoon break. With its elegant décor and inviting ambiance, Le Petit Café is the perfect spot to unwind while enjoying a taste of France during your stay at the Riviera Resort. You must try the chocolate chunk banana bread, complete with a chocolate mickey coin, it is outstanding!

Bar Riva is a stylish outdoor terrace bar and is the perfect spot for guests to unwind after a day in the parks. The menu at Bar Riva features a selection of handcrafted cocktails, fine wines, and refreshing beverages, with a focus on Mediterranean-inspired drinks. It is conveniently located near the pool, which is great for a casual drink with friends or a romantic evening. Bar Riva offers a perfect blend of relaxation and sophistication seamlessly.

Pools
The Riviera resort features 2 pool areas and a large splash pad. The main pool, known as the Riviera Pool, is designed with a whimsical, vibrant aesthetic that reflects the Mediterranean influence of the resort. This pool includes zero-entry access, a fun water slide, nightly movies, and has ample lounge chairs and shaded chaise seating areas for relaxation. You will also find a hot tub in this area. The Beau Soleil Pool offers a more tranquil atmosphere. This pool is tucked away, surrounded by lush landscaping, it’s ideal for lounging in peace or enjoying a refreshing swim.

For our tiny travelers, S’il Vous Play is located near the Riviera Pool, and offers an interactive water play area. It is filled with various water features, including fountains, sprays, slides, and gentle water jets for children to play around, splash, and enjoy themselves.

Shopping
The charming merchandise shop, La Boutique, features unique souvenirs celebrating Riviera’s artistic influences, including apparel and home decor. You will also find beautiful art pieces and decor that reflect the resort’s elegant style, a selection of Disney merchandise, travel essentials, and an assortment of snacks and treats.

Skyliner
The Skyliner is my favorite mode of transportation on Walt Disney World Resort property. This convenient and scenic transportation system that connects you to Epcot and Disney's Hollywood Studios in a themed gondola-style system. I love viewing the lush landscapes of Disney parks and resorts while aboard the Skyliner. It is a quick and enjoyable way to travel between the parks and the resort and visit a few other Skyliner-connected resorts for a different food and shopping experience.
